Family scenes 1996-7

These were a series of smaller, looser paintings which I improvised around the theme of family relationships, inventing combinations of mother/ father/ children in an imagined space. With these pictures I began to have in mind the imagery of photographic snapshots, although I was not, at this point, working from photographic images.
